Safety procedures in all retail stores are governed by legislation. On top of this, many stores implement their own safety policies and procedures in line with the legislation to encompass the store's unique circumstances and products. For instance, a car accessory store will have procedures for handling each of a variety of chemical products whereas a footwear store may only have a procedure for using basic cleaning agents.
